Broken Down is name aptly for since our NW Team members broke down while heading to Grove City for some caching time. We got bored & decided to place a cache here. Enjoy yourself & take a break from driving for a few minutes.
This cache will be maintained by our Northwest Team Members.
The story behind the cache:
On 22 Aug o8 some of NW Team members (EmtFire10, Firegirl 69 & Littlebit) were heading down to Grove City Pa to do some caching. As we approached the SB Rest Stop before the Sandy Lake area, the temp gauge started to rise severely.
Emtfire10 decided to pull into the SB Rest Stop area & check under the hood to see what the problem was. The problem was the engine's thermostat decided to stop working.
A phone call was made to another team member of ours, explained what happened, where we were at, and what was needed. While waiting for another team member to show, Littlebit whipped out her laptop computer to check and see if there was a cache nearby.
The closest one was approx 0.9 south of us in the NB Rest Stop. Quickly Firegirl69 mentioned "Hey let's put a cache here", Emtfire10 went back to the truck to see if there was any containers left over from their recent event. Once a container was found, log created and a few tradeable items placed inside, a name was needed. We came up with the name in a few seconds, cords shot, container placed & cache submitted.
Hopefully when you stop here, that you are taking a break to stretch your legs, have a picinic, walk the dog or just relaxing for a few moments and not broke down as we were then.
Once one of our other team members arrived with the much needed tools & thermostat, everything was replaced, fixed and back on the road. Needless to say though, it was getting late and it was decided that we needed to head back North rather then attempt to go caching in the Grove City area for the what little daylight was left.
