Each of the caches in the Alchemist Series are now stand alone caches. No info is required to attempt any of the caches in the series.
The Alchemist Series contains a total of fifteen caches: eight in Tier One, four in Tier Two, two in Tier Three, and one in Tier Four. I originally set the series up so that the eight caches in Tier One were all traditional, but in order to find any of the caches in the three higher tiers you had to first find two caches in a lower tier. Since the series has not been getting much traffic I decided to make the higher series caches all traditional too. All finders of the original Alchemist's Salt are welcome to find this new version.
Each cache -- except for Gold and Brass and and Copper -- contains a three digit number written on the inside of the front cover of the logbook; that number will be needed to calculate the coordinates of Gold. Please do not share this information with other cachers; let them complete the series on their own. This series will take you on a criss-cross journey through western North Carolina. This is not a race!
The suggested parking coordinates are N 35° 10.064 W 083° 02.389. You are looking for a small Lock&Lock container hidden near Salt Rock in Panthertown Valley. Round-trip walk is about half a mile. Make sure you check out the view from N 35° 09.975 W 83° 02.161 -- it is awesome! 
(And there is a benchmark close by too.) The cache is full of the usual inexpensive trade items. As always, trade even or up. Enjoy The Alchemist Series!
