Geo-almost-ten-year-old has been wanting to hide a dinosaur themed cache for some time now. Here it is. This cache has been hidden as part of the 2008 Olympics themed Geosportz game under the category of badminton.
The cache is not located at the above co-ordinates. To find the cache you first need to answer some simple questions to decipher the code below. The numbers in brackets replace one letter from the clue.
1. The word pterodactyl means (4) _ (7) _ _ _ (5) _ _ _ _ _.
2. Pterosaurs existed from the late Triassic to the end of the _ _ _ (3) _ _ _ _ (12) _ Period (220 to 65.5 million years ago).
3. The first pterosaur fossil was described by the Italian naturalist C(8) _ _ _ _ C_ _ _ _ _ _ in 1784.
4. Pterosaur _ _ _ _ (1) were hollow and air filled, like the bones of birds. They had a keeled breastbone that was developed for the attachment of flight muscles and an enlarged brain that shows specialised features associated with flight.
Pterosaurs were not dinosaurs but were closely related to them.
5. The biggest dinosaurs were the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (6) _ , such as the diplodocus and the brachiosaurus.
6. Brachiosaurus means _ (9) _ _ (11) _ _ _ _. It got its name because its forelimbs were longer than its hind limbs.
7. Brachiosaurus was a _ _ _ _ _ (2) _ _ (10), a plant eater. It probably ate the tops of tall trees with its large spatulate (chisel-shaped) teeth. It swallowed its food whole, without chewing it, digesting the plant material in its gut.

This is a themed cache. We’d love to see dinosaur related swaps. The cache initially contains toy dinosaurs. There is an unactivated geocoin for the first to find.
