As we were passing through the area Today we stopped here for a
restroom break. What a nice Welcome Center to take a driving break.
Stop by and have a picnic lunch in the provided area with plenty of
shade and parking. Complimentary fountain drinks and coffee in the
Welcome Center, plus plenty of local information, maps, local
attractions, literature and brochures available free of charge.
This is a Travel bug resort, so if you take a travel bug or
geocoin please leave one to replace it. Cache is a dual purpose
bird house and geocache container. It is located inside the picnic
area. There is a loop around back that has picnic tables and
parking spots, this is the area that the cache is in. You do not
have to go off into the wooded area to get to the cache. No poison
ivy or thorns around the cache, can do this one in shorts and flip
flops. Please respect any wildlife that may have taken residence in
the container.
Note:Someone took the birdhouse and left the plastic container in a
hollow tree near the place the birdhouse was taken from. I have
updated the coordinates to the hollowed out hole at the base of the
nearby tree. Shame on the cacher who took the birdhouse.
