Geocache Description:

A lovely walk up to Bickerton Hill, with amazing views over to Liverpool and the Welsh hills.

The cache is near to Mad Allens Hole. Mad Allen was one John Harris, a hermit, who lived at the end of the eighteenth century. He decided to live in a cave when his parents would not allow him to marry the girl he loved. He stayed there for most of his life, scareing the locals with his odd appearance, long beard and unkempt hair.

From the parking space near Bickerton Church, follow the Sandstone Trail sign up the hill. When you get to a large concave sandstone crag, walk in a westerly direction. At the way post take the right hand fork, and walk 18 yards to a small path on the right hand side. Follow this path until you come to a large overhanging crag.

Well done Snapperman, first to find!
