Workyticket: As there appears to have been no response from the CO we are archiving this cache listing to prevent it from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements in the area. Geocache Description:

A quick cache in Chester-le-street, but not quite a drive past as the road is really busy so please dont stop right by it, you will be seen on the CCTV

This cache is located near two ancient sites in Chester-le-street,one being the church of St. Marys and St Cuthberts including the Ankers House Museum. This church predates Durham Cathedral and it was here that Bishop Aldred translated the Lindesfarne Gospels into a Anglo Saxon from Latin, also it was here that St. Cuthbert's body rested on his journey for a resting place.
The second and important site for our cache is the Roman Remains in Chester-le-Street. Here a garrison was held as well as being a stop off point for troops travelling up to Hadrians Wall.
Here you can see the remains of the Commanders House, which was excavated at the time of the building of the new Parish Centre.

The above co-ordinates are good enough to use for parking as 20m from here is two car parks.

Thanks to Robot197 for a little bit of help with our first cache out.
