Geocache Description:

Quick cache and dash very close to the roadway. Cacher may need to be at least 5 feet tall. Please replace carefully as found.

Our family recently moved to this area from Virginia. We're celebrating our 100th find by hiding our first California caches. We got the idea for this one while out exploring on a road that looked like it went through but turned out to be a dead-end.

As we passed by the fields that are close to this cache during early August, the fields had recently been harvested, but all the rejected berries lay over-ripening in the sun. The gophers or prarie dogs or whatever they were were having a field day dashing across the road, grabbing berries, then scurrying back to their hole or den or domicile. What was more memorable, however, was the smell of ripe berries wafting across the road in the late-morning sun - it was nearly intoxicating, like a thousand scented candles!

Cache is a small container shaped like an elongated 35mm film canister. We haven't seen many hides like this out here so we thought we would try it out.
