on hwy 271
1926 16 miles south of Garberville Frank and Lucy Reynolds bought the Reynolds Redwood Grove. They turned the grove into a resort. There was a restaurant, 23 cabins, gas station, and wood shop and a soda fountian. There was also camping and trailer spaces. In 1966 the property was sold to the state. For a short time the state used it as a camp ground untill the early 70's when the new freeway went thru. The east side of the river is still state property. All signs of the resort are gone! This is a small cache with only small trades.
