FOSSIL ROCK Traditional Cache

Cache is located at the TOP of Fossil Rock. Fossil Rock is well known to rock climbers and tops out at 1,070 feet in elevation. Really good views and a great hike in.
Cache is regular size and contains the essentials This is a really beautiful place and if you get up there early enough and watch the sun rise you won't be disappointed. Bring your mountain bike as the hike in from the parking spot is about an hour give or take a few. If your feeling frisky you can free climb some of the smaller "boulders" at the base of the climb for fun. I climbed one at N 46* 49.610 W 122* 25.535. It was a lot of fun! To start off drive down Bald Hill Rd. to just past the back gate for Clearwood. Pull off to the left and park at the given coords. which are for the gate at the beginning of the 1000 RD. Gate 202. Hike or bike your way down this road to gate 216 which will be on your right hand side at a 4 way intersection. Squeeze by Gate 216 and stay on this road all the way up untill you hit the trailhead which will also be on your right (coords given).
