Milkbone15: The cache has been washed out tu sea due to flooding. The area is also dead due to being under water for so long and could take months or more to grow back into a suitable cache hide location. Time to let others hide in this area. Good luck and fair winds. YARRR!!!

Geocache Description:

It doesn’t pay to borrow the Treasure, follow the trail of a small band of Lafitte’s crew as they go cache to cache hiding Lafitte's loot.



Avast! Ye Cache Scalawags!
Tis' be one of the Treasure caches to hunt as ye follow ta' infamous and terrible pirate, Jean Lafitte's crews trail to the booty.
Whilst trade items be very welcome here, feel the pirate spirit within ye and plunder one loot bag from this cache if their be any.

Tis' be a shoreline nature trail site being developed by the city of The Colony.
Now complete it runs along the Lake Lewisville shoreline between Ridgepointe Park and Stewart Creek Park the location of the annual Pirate Days of Texas event. YAR! see GC2DGKB


The Trail being largely in a USACOE wildlife management area, visitors can expect to see a variety of native flora and fauna. Interpretive signage will be posted to provide educational opportunities and to enhance awareness of the natural systems. Benches, litter receptacles, and pet stations will be located along the trail at half mile intervals. The trail has been well designed to blend into the natural setting much like the Geocaches in the area (wink).

UPDATE! the trail is now done and officialy open. Use caution when hunting this cache.
The old cords N 33° 04.627 W 096° 53.811 are now under the new parking lot! Yarg...
Please stay on the trail till almost to the cache.
