Geocache Description:

Easy offset from one of the islands treasures. Small sandwich box with room for small items.

These coordinates will find you at one of the Island's treasures. Legend has it that Walter de Godeton, Lord of Chale, helped himself to some wine which had washed ashore in a shipwreck in Chale Bay. Unbeknownst to him, the wine had come from a Frech Monastery. When the church found him out, he was fined and threatened with excommunication unless he repented and built them an oratory and beacon. Fearing for his soul, he build the structure in the early 1300s, the remains of which stand before you today.

Looking at the beacon:
A= how many buttresses are there?
B= how many ground level doors are there?
C= how many windows are there around the top?
D = how many small windows are around the middle (higher than buttresses)?

Now turn around and cross the stile behind you, to get to the trig point to get some more numbers. What numbers do you see below OSBM (ignore the first character, a letter)?
E?F?G?H?

And, while at the trig point, if you see any problems which need fixing for the trig pillar, please contact The Nickster, a geocacher who has adopted the trig point, promising to notify the OS with any maintenance issues.

OK - now you are ready to find the cache.
Final cache position is
N 50 3(A+B).(C-B-D) C (F+G+H)
W 001 1C. E (E-G) (F+G)
