Yes, it's time for BBW's Annual Pig Roast at Goddard State Park.
When: Friday August 28th,
2009, from 5:00pm until 10:30pm (we all have to be out of the park
by 11pm!). This is a Rain or Shine
event! The event is Kid Friendly - I will have some
stuff to keep the younguns occupied (did someone say water
balloons?).
Where: Goddard Memorial State Park, at the
Carousel Building

What: Food, friends, and fun. The event is Kid Friendly - I
will have some stuff to keep the younguns occupied (did someone say

Food: I will be providing burgers, hot dogs, salad, chips
and watermelon and s'mores. I am asking everyone pay a small amount
($3 Adults, $2 kids 12 and under) for food. Attendees are
responsible for their own non-alcoholic beverages. There is a
refrigerator at the building to keep things cold. Please do not
bring any food (unless you have special diet requirements)! There
is always too much and it just goes to waste!
Fun & Friends: The usual stuff – sharing stories,
catching up with fellow cachers, and some prizes to be awarded.
There is a very nice sandy beach at the park if you are so
inclined. So, spend a day in Rhode Island caching, then meet for
some food, conversation, and some relaxation.
Games: Keep track of the caches you do the 7 days (Sat -
Fri) prior to the event (not just Found but also DNFs), including
the name, and who hid it. Also, keep track of your cache Found It
Numbers (eg. you had 200 finds before the week started, and you are
now at 210). I will be offering prizes for various
"accomplishments", such as who found the most caches placed by "x"
or who reached their n-th milestone.
Caches: There will be four new caches in the park. Two
will be listed prior to the event (one is a puzzle) and the other
two will get listed at the event at random times.
Donations: I will be asking for donations to help offset
the cost of renting the building.
Swimming: You can swim at the beach until sunset, but
after 6pm it is at your own risk (no lifeguards).
Traveler Table: There will be a table set up for swapping
travelers. Please log any picked up as soon as possible. Please do
not drop any items that you will be showing for Discovering
only.
Handicapped access & Parking: There are a few
handicapped parking spaces right at the building. Everyone else
should park down at the beach parking area.
