I had hidden a kidswap cache at I-40 exit 200 back in January of
2008 to mark the spot where I was meeting my Ex-wife to exchange
the girls. That cache has proven to be pretty popular, so I decided
to do it again.
Since I moved to Oklahoma City, this has become the new Kidswap
location. I haven't seen other families meeting here just yet, but
being the people watcher that I am, I'm still looking.
While I'll be the first to tell you that divorce stinks - and is
pretty much a national tragedy - it makes me very happy to see so
much effort being put forth by individual families to make sure
that these dads are still an active and important part of these
kids' lives.
Statistics make it very clear that divorced parents who behave
and keep the other parent active in the family raise far more
successful and well-adjusted children. While it took some time to
get here, I feel very fortunate to have an ex-wife who tries to
keep things simple and pleasant.
