Back to School Traditional Geocache
Mamateach: Since we are no longer living in the area, we stopped by last week while visiting in hopes of doing maintenance but were unable to locate it. After reading the recent logs, I believe it is no longer there.

Medium sized Lock 'n' Lock
Christmas 2007, my son and his family gave me a lock ‘n’ lock filled with school supplies as a gift and encouraged me to hide my first cache. I knew immediately where I wanted to put it but wasn’t sure I could get permission to hide one in this location. This cache is placed near the former Short Gap Elementary School. When we moved to this area in 1972, I taught sixth grade for one year at this school. The school has since been vacated and after talking with the superintendent of schools, we learned that the site is no longer owned by the Mineral County Board of Education. The placement of the cache is not on the current business property, but near the road in front of the former school. Although we had received permission to access the cache from the field in front of the business, there must have been some problem (note previous cache logs) and the cache disappeared. I have chosen to move the cache so that one does not need to go onto the present business property, and have changed the coordinates slightly.
Please do not trespass onto the business property.
