Geocache Description:

A magnificent specimen in a lovely spot. Third cache on the way to The Tongue, which is getting closer as we move further up the valley.

From 'Open Wide' the lane crosses the Garburn Road, an old route from Troutbeck over to Kentmere. Go through the gate and continue the gentle descent past Limefitt Park. If you're cycling, watch out for a short section of track with loose rock by the line of old hawthorns. Apart from this the track is delightful either on foot or by bike.

The bridleway follows the old track along the fell side by the wall. Shortly before reaching Long Green Head, the only farm passed by the route, a magnificent oak stands just above the path. We stacked a few rocks around its base, and they should be large enough to hide the box! A good spot for a sit and ponder.
