On my vacation in France I saw this beautiful volcano.
About 6-8 million years ago the volcano last erupted.
Due to erosion the volcano is gone and only the chimney is left.
Take the effort to look around!
You can see a lot of things, such as:
rubble from the eruptions and a marvelous reversed relief.
The small village of Sceautres in the Ardeche region is situated
in a valley between several volcanic plateaus.
On a geological scale, the volcanoes in Ardèche are really
youngsters, originating from the Quaternary.
The giant rock that towers above the village, neck de Sceautres, is
very impressive - it is the centre of a volcano. The volcano itself
crumbled and was eroded ages ago. Actually the whole hill is one
big lake of solidified lava. On the bank the people build there
nice village.
On the way to the top you can find all the information you
need.
To log this cache you will have to do 3 things.
1: What material is the chimnee made of?
2: How many meters is the chimnee above the ground?
3: Make a picture of yourself on top of the mountain with the
statue of the virgin Mary. Not from the ground!
After approval you may log.

Durant mes vacances en France, j’ai vu ce beau volcan.
Il est entré en éruption il y a environ 6-8 millions
d’années.
Dû à l’érosion, le volcan s’est usé et seule est restée
la cheminée. Faites l’effort de regarder autour de
vous.
Vous pouvez voir des tas de choses tels que les débris provenant de
l’éruption et un merveilleux relief inversé.
Le petit village de Sceautres dans l’Ardèche est situé
dans une vallée entre plusieurs plateaux volcaniques. A
l’échelle géologique, les volcans d’Ardèche sont
réellement jeunes, d’origine quaternaire.
Le rocher géant qui domine le village, le neck de Sceautres, est
très impressionnant – c’est le centre du volcan. Le
volcan lui-même s’est désintégré et s’est érodé jadis.
En réalité, la colline entière est un gros lac de lave solidifiée.
Sur ses flancs, les habitants ont construit leur joli village.
En chemin vers le sommet, vous pouvez trouver toutes les
informations dont vous avez besoin.
Pour logguer la cache, vous devrez faire 3 choses :
1 : de quel matériau (roche) est faite la cheminée ?
2 : A quelle altitude est la cheminée ?
3 : Faites une photo de vous au sommet de la colline avec la statue
de la vierge Marie.
Pas de photo prise d’en bas ! Après approbation, vous
pourrez écrire votre log.
Mon français n’est pas très bon, aussi je préfère que les
