Geocache Description:

(May I ask the next intrepid Geocacher to bring a simple container with a log sheet along🤔? Please replace it if needed😍!)
This one is for Geocachers preferring to work physically to reach their destination. I take you up for a walk of one to 1½ hours one way, gaining some 360m of elevation.
Do not miss the enormous fig tree to your left in about 550 m distance from the start.
Once at the cache site you will have a magnificent view of the coastline and the islands in the background. But you will also enjoy a bird’s eye view of the rainforest canopy. You can even watch the Skyrail gondolas from above meeting and Cockatoos as white dots over the green of the giant trees. Admire the orchids nearby, too.
Watch out, the access to the car park has a significant dip. You can leave your car at the trailhead at S16°51.099’E145°41.190’, which gave me a good opportunity for CITO.
The walk should only be attempted by Geocachers very experienced in bushwalking. From the trailhead you follow your GPS on an old logging track ascending moderately. Eventually it narrows and then becomes very steep – more than 70% – for the final ascend. The cache contents are of practical use and it shouldn’t be hard to find.
Walking down you have to watch for ribbons on trees to find the most convenient way especially in the steeper parts. It can become slippery under wet conditions. EXTREME CARE has to be taken when driving back to the road as it is in a sharp bend.
Happy hunting!
