Geocache Description:

The island is about 15-20 kms from the mainland. Many tours go there by boat from Drake (approx 1 hour in one direction). The cache is fairly easy to access for any fit individual - it requires a little rock climbing.

Isla del Caño is famous for its Indian remains (many have now been moved to the mainland and to museums and the few that remain are actually fairly unremarkable). It is also known for its snorkelling and many tours go there to do this. These tours normally give you an hour or so on the beach for lunch, and this cache can easily be found once you've eaten or whilst you wait for the food to be prepared. It is located at one end of the beach well above the high tide mark by what appears to be a little lawn with a few trees up on some rocks (I'm sure it's all naturally grown however, no gardener involved).

This cache accidentally ended up being a type of cache in trash out cache, as although I had a container with me to lay a cache, I actually found a better shaped one washed up on the beach and used that instead.

Carlos the tour guide has agreed to keep an eye on this.
