Beautiful island in Lake Abanakee accessed by canoe, kayak or small motor boat.
The nest on the next island is visible through the trees. Actually, the day we placed the cache, we saw an eagle flying near the nest. We later found out that it was an osprey's nest but we decided not to change the name.
You'll find the cache in a 3" x 6" lock and lock in a very natural setting. You can put in at the boat launch by the beach on Chain of Lakes road. Paddle under the bridge and follow your GPS. It's a really nice canoe/kayak ride to a completely uninhabited part of the lake. This one will be hard to find with more than 1-2" of snow on the ground. There are several places on the island where you can pull up a canoe or kayak fairly easily. The Southwest corner is best. Good luck and enjoy the beauty of the lake.
