Para conmemorar la entrada del siglo XX y como consecuencia del jubileo otorgado por el Papa León XIII, todas las poblaciones de la Plana y del Maestrazgo sufragaron los gastos de construcción de una monumental cruz de hierro en la cumbre del monte Bartolo, lugar que hoy ocupa la gran antena de Televisión española. La monumental cruz tenía 18 metros de altura, por 6 de envergadura en sus brazos y dos por dos en el tronco. El monumento fue bendecido en 1901 y a dicha ceremonia asistieron todas las autoridades eclesiásticas y políticas de la provincia, así como cerca de veinte mil fieles.
La monumental cruz fue dinamitada en los comienzos de la guerra civil española de 1936, pudiéndose observar aún las cimentaciones que en su día la sustentaron.
Para acceder a este cache tomamos la cv-147 a la altura de la magdalena,hasta llegar al monasterio del desierto de las palmas.Junto al monasterio hay un lugar para aparcar,exactamente en N 40.04.515 E 000.01.595
Enfilamos la pista asfaltada que sale desde aqui y un poco mas adelante podemos entrar en una senda algo durilla que nos llevara casi hasta la cruz,la senda empieza en N 40.04.697 E 000.01.635
recomiendo subir por la senda porque la pista es bastante mas larga.Posiblemente la pista sea mas suave que la senda pero se tarda mas en llegar.

To commemorate the entry of the 20th century and as consequence of the jubilee granted by the Pope León XIII, all the populations of the Page and of the Dignity of a military order supported the expenses of construction of a monumental cross of iron in the summit of the mount Bartolo, place that today occupies the great antenna of Spanish Television. The monumental cross had 18 meters of height, for 6 important ones in his(her,your) arms and two for two in the trunk. The monument was bendecido in 1901 and at the above mentioned ceremony there were present all the ecclesiastic and political authorities of the province, as well as near twenty thousand public inspectors.
The monumental cross was dinamitada in the beginning of the Spanish civil war of 1936, being able to be observed still(yet) the foundations that in his(her,your) day sustained her.
To accede to this cache we take it cv-147 at a height(the level) of the MAGDALENA, up to coming to the monastery of the desert of the palms. Close to the monastery there is a place to park, exactly in N 40.04.515 and 000.01.595 We Line up the track asfaltada that goes out from here and a bit hereinafter(a bit later on) we can enter a slightly rather hard path that was taking us almost up to the cross, the path begins in N 40.04.697 and 000.01.635 I recommend to rise for the path because the track is enough long . Possibly the track is softly that the path but one is late in coming.
