Geist castle ruin;
The little romantic castle, standing in the park has been built in the early 1850's by the order of László Batthyány. The building that's very rich in architectural details probably planned by Miklós Ybl and Ágoston Pollack. The land was rented by Gáspár Geist at first. Later he bought it from its owner. Here worked István Petofi who was the brother of our famous poet, Sándor Petofi. He lived in the romantic ministerial lodge behind the castle from 1858 to 1880 until his death. In the park a representative neorenaissance doming chapel has been built by Miklós Ybl for the request of Geist. Under this a family-crypt has been developed.
