Geocache Description:

The Burdekin has always been noted for sugar cane. This cache will take you on a trip around a couple of sites that have some historical significance in this industry.

The above co-ordinates will lead you to a large rock monument. Find the difference between the two digit years listed for each name, and use this to decode the numbers for the following location of ground zero:

S 19°GC.IBF E 147°DH.EAF

A = Stanley
B = Higgins
C = Rutkin
D = Dixon
E = Von Treifeldt
F = Gargett
G = Conely
H = Last number in the year the school was closed.
I = Third number in the year the rock monument was erected.

Have fun and happy geocaching.

FIRST TO FIND goes to burdair3 who wrote: "Spotted this new listing moments before needing to head to Townville to pick up burdair jnr but we were able to nut out the code as I happened to have a photo of the monument as we had previously thought this site worthy of a cache (obviously great minds think alike) and Google Earth confirmed where we thought GZ was going to be. So we didn't even need to warm up the GPS and we were very surprised that after our 2 hour detour we managed to claim the FTF. TNLNSL Thanks for the cache."
