Preface

On February 14th, 2003 a top secret meeting was called in by the US and Russian government, inviting leaders of the other major countries, UK, China and France. In this meeting the Americans disclosed that they are capable of interstellar travel by means of a device referred to as the Stargate. After Senator Kinsey's proposal, to give the NID control over the Stargate on behalf of all five nations, was crushed by the visit of the Asgard Thor, they agreed to let the US military maintain the program.

March 19th, 2004: almost one year later, an Ancient outpost in Antarctica is discovered, revealing the purpose of the 8th chevron to add the capability to travel to Atlantis, the City of the Ancient, in the Pegasus galaxy. A team of international scientists was assembled to go there. By that the Austrian government was let in on the Stargate program and sent two brilliant minds to accompany the mission.

Now in knowledge of the Stargate the Austrian government secretly founded an organization employing scientist to study the gate's technology. While under pressure to come up with new technology and knowledge based on Ancient design, on November 15th, 2008 they finally made a stunning discovery.

Part 1 – The Mission

INT HQ September 7th, 2008 03:16

We are situated in a small windowless room. It is dark; the spot of a light hanging in the middle of room only reveals a wooden desk with an old roll-chair in front of it. From behind we hear the buzzing of a door opener, followed by the sound of a door closing.

A man in a white coat enters the view, approaching the desk. From our current position we cannot see his face but it is apparent that he must be some kind of scientist. He takes a seat and suddenly out of nowhere a voice says:

VOICE: Dr. Koch, what is it that you contact me at this ungodly hour.

KOCH: Sir, we've found something. Although the documents, Stargate Command provided, where a bit vague, we've found proof in the city's old archives, supporting our first suspicion that there is another Stargate.

VOICE (obviously confused): What do you mean another?

KOCH: Based on the SGC's documents we thought of the possibility that the Ancients placed more than two Stargates on earth.

VOICE (sounding impatient): I've read that report! So if you’ve anything important to tell me, cut to the chase!

KOCH: An article in an old chronicle states that around the year 1830 a strange ring-like object was discovered by workers in the hills around Linz.

VOICE (intrigued): Interesting! Does it give any information about its present location?

KOCH: No. But it gives some clues on how to find it.

VOICE: Very well. I want a full report by the end of the day.

KOCH: Yes Sir!

A cracking noise coming out of nowhere suggests that this is the end of the conversation. Koch gets up from the chair and heads to the door.

For a brief moment we can see his face in the spot light. He is a middle aged, caucasian male, wearing glasses and has a geeky looking haircut.

INT YOUR PLACE a few hours later

Your telephone rings. The screen shows NO caller ID. Curious who it might be, you pick up the phone.

CALLER: Hello Agent-746, this is Brigadier Brenner! We have a mission for you. We need you to retrieve an artifact from a location around Linz. Unfortunately we are unaware of its exact location. So if you decide to accept it you will find all necessary information in the E-Mail that I've just sent you.

I'll contact you again when you've found the artifact.

Good luck!

E-Mail:

Dear Agent-74,
the restoration processes for the first two pages of the article we have found is complete. Below you can find a preview of the pages. Please follow the link to watch the high-resolution version.

We have already begun to deceiver the next page and found that the first lines might help you. It says:
When you reach the wall take the coordinates of the tree
N ab° cd.e
E fg° hi.j
and add the digits of the numbers, such that AB = a+b+c+d+e and CD= f+g+h+i+j.

Then solve the following equations:
XXX = B ^ D - (B + C) * A + C
YYY = A ^ (A + D) - (A + C) * D - D / B

and goto:
N 48° 19.XXX / E 14°14.YYY
