Long Live the Ammo Box II - Tribute to 'Dave'! Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

explorer_olway: Sad to say this cache has been retired - the container had perished too much and on checking today, it looked like the area around GZ was being regularly used by a neighbouring property so I removed the ammo box and contents. As 'Dave' seems to no longer geocache it is probably the right time to archive this.

Thanks to all who attempted it over many years.

Geocache Description:


This is a tribute cache that requires you to solve several clues around St Nicholas Church, Boarhunt before you find an ammo box. We don't mind hunting micros in certain situations but there is nothing quite like finding an ammo box whilst geocaching. We hope this encourages other cachers to place ammo box size containers rather than micros.

We wanted to call it "Long Live the Ammo Box II - Trigger's Tribute to 'Dave'" as this will mean something to many local cachers but we hope the shortened title still provides a chuckle.

Park up in the church car park and begin your hunt.

Go to Waypoint 1 and count the number of letters in the Sixth word on the brass plaque to give you: C

Go to Waypoint 2 and count the number of stone crosses on the church roof - this gives you: B

Go to Waypoint 3 and note the 3rd number in the date on Mary's seat - this gives you: D

At the same waypoint, note the 1st number on the date of Alan's seat - this gives you: A

The third number on Alan's seat gives you: F

Go to waypoint 4 and note the number of screws missing on the gate handle fixing - this gives you: E

You now need to go to:

N50. 52. ABC

W001. 08. DEF

NB. There is NO need to access GZ from the road - it can be done safely and simply by continuing on from Clue E.

Once at this point, go into the copse about 10 metres and look for a 'warm' hiding spot where you will find the cache.
