Old Glory has been out in this spot all summer and it looks nice from just about anywhere on the lake. We used to build bonfires here resulting in enough organic material for plants to grow.
The cache is a well camouflaged and ballasted (for wind) bison tube hidden with a little gravel - you don't need to touch the flag or any plants to access the cache. Bring your own pen or pencil. Please don't drop it in the drink.
Try to leave the container where you found it with a little gravel to help keep it in place. We'll see how it holds up over the winter. It is at eye level in a canoe or just above in a kayak.
There are a lot of places to access the lake but your best bet might be near the Mosquito Cache - GC1CWEG. Good luck!
