SBC (Smith Brothers Cache) Series created by The Smith Brothers. Fourth cache of many to be hidden. We're new at this, so please bear with us. Read the cache name and that's the location your heading towards for this cache.
Hurricane Ivan affected the Ohio Valley and its neighboring cities with a week full of flooding and destruction. Bridgeport was one of the towns most affected by this. Many roads and hillsides were destroyed and it took quite a time to fix the damage.
The location of this cache brings back a memory to my brother and I. The first day of the flood, back in September 2004, we were sent home from school early, due to the upcoming storm, and within seconds, we traveled up beside this road (old cadiz road), only to see the cache road collapse.
Many other roads in our town had collapsed or were severly flooded (Lansing Carry-Out Road had collapsed in and Perkins Field (now Bill Jobko Field) had water up past the homestands!!! Imagine that). This small road was used by many people as a shortcut into Bridgeport, coming north from Sunset Heights, or from coming east, to beat the Marion Street Traffic. It took them approximately a year to fix and you can still see exactly how far you would've dropped had you been on the road at this time.
On to the cache. Very little room to park, I would recommend parking near the small waterfall on Old Cadiz Road and walk to the cache. Micro, no swag needed, just a quickie. Thought I would provide you with the information I knew about this. Be safe and Have fun caching!!!
