Leave Virden on King Street and cross the Trans-Canada Highway. You are now on Commonwealth Drive...keep on it and cross over Provincial Highway 259 East to the airport. Stop at the Airport Sign that says Virden Regional Airport...RJ (Bob) Andrew Field. Do not go any farther. Do not check out the planes. You are nowhere near any landing strip. You're safe where you are. The geocache is located across the road from the airport sign in a field of thistles, bushes, and trees. The terrain is level. There is no difficulty. The altitude is 1410 feet. You are looking for a large white plastic container. This is a former RCAF Base with the only building from the Second World War left being a hangar. The town has an airport way down the road. Wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt plus a hat. Bring your bug spray. We have West Nile mosquitoes in the Virden area.
The container holds Cadet material, the geocache log, a writing instrument, and a few other things. Make sure the top is securely on the container...and tied.
