Cache located on Viking Mountain near Camp Creek Bald about 8 miles up Viking Mountain Rd from US70 near Greeneville, TN. Fabulous view from the Bald.
Warning: ROAD CAN BE TREACHEROUS IN WINTER
Turn off US70 onto Viking Mountain Rd and take road to the top. Turns to gravel; best done with pickup/suv for clearance. You make wish to park at Camp Creek Bald when you reach to top, and hike down a small road to the right to reach general area of the cache.
We wonder what the nearby small building held or how it functioned. It just about fallen down now; any ideas? Perhaps an old hunter's cabin, an old radio tower control room? If only the walls could speak....
Cache is about 100 yards deeper into woods and is a camo-covered 1 gallon plastic container with many small items for trade.
