Captain Kaboom takes the Easy Way Up Traditional Cache

Greatland Reviewer: Archiving at the Land Owner's request. Please read the e-mail sent on August 29, 2015, with the subject line "[GEO] From Greatland Reviewer: Caches on Private Land in Hatcher Pass" for details.

For all other interested cachers:

A representative of Gold Cord Mine, Mountain Heather Investments LLC, contacted me and requested archival of a dozen geocsaches that are on private land without permission in the Hatcher Pass area. An increase in active gold mining that includes surface blasting which creates a public safety hazard and geocachers’ reluctance to leave the area even when warned about their trespass and immanent blasting prompted the request. .

You will have to manually zoom close enough into the to the area of interest to see the parcel boundaries and select Measure, Location and pick Degrees or DMS. Coordinates will now display when moving the cursor on the map.

Geocache Description:

Stiff Hike to a Pass between Willow creek and independence valley fabulous views.

Go to Headwaters of wiillow creek valley climb to the pass at the head of the valley. Go to the low point of the actual pass, find a little boulder cave on the right side of the pass it is diagonal shaped. This cache is hidden under a Y or V shaped flat rock, I left a log, pencil, keychain. You can look down on the independence mine area. Spectacular view of willow creek and Indy Valley. Put the kids in a kennel and call a babysitter for the dog, as this is not appropriate for either of them. Takes an hour up and 45 minutes down if youre in solid condition, double that if youre not. This is an obvious find, for extra fun first try finding it without your gps.
