This multi-cache will take you to two different locations. The most challenging part is not the terrain, but answering the questions correctly. Have fun!
This cache intends to highlight what activities can be done at home and through public works projects to clean our local streams. The coordinates above will bring you to the first location. Look closely to answer the following questions:
X = Number of healthy watershed actions that will leave "a lighter footprint on our environment"
Y = Number of panels on the sign needed to shown the entire extent of the Salmon Creek watershed
Z = Number of square miles in the Salmon Creek watershed
Use this information to find the next location:
N 45 4X.0XY
W 122 (Z-54).472
These coordinates will take you to a different location, away from this staring point. Be confident with your answers and go for it!
This location is a public works project the Clark County Clean Water Program built recently: a constructed wetland. County watershed professionals say the purpose of this facility is "to improve stream headwater storage, provide wetland restoration, enhance the riparian buffer, improve water quality, and restore the historic stream flows to achieve clean water goals." A future County project will further enhance these wetlands in the area SE of the nearby intersection.
Careful of traffic in this location. If you park in the gravel lot, you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck!
