Geocache Description:


Congrats to deloreanmotors for the FTF.

This area is well known in Wichita and has a number of reasons to place a cache here. It has a Fountain that was erected in 1934 for Ben Mc Lean, who was well known as a Banker and was active in city government, serving three terms as Mayor, (1901-1904) and 1923-1924).
There is a Historical Marker about the beginning of the Chisholm Trail.
There is a Liberty Tree that was planted to commemorate the people that perished on September 11.
And It is known as the Gateway to Delano area.
The real reason is in keeping with the Beautifying Wichita through Sculpture series. The Feather Towers curved linear shapes are part of a ceremonial entrance to the downtown area of the city. The design was a result of Nautical and Aeronautical themes and inspirations from the elements of wind, water, and flight. The sculpture was designed by Vicki Scuri and assisted by Mark Stitzer. They were placed on the bridge in 1998. The Taurus twist is the new addition of the Bull that was recently moved here. It used to be at the Coliseum In Park City.
You are looking for a magnetic key holder hidden around the Bull. Have fun.
