Heart Island Conservation Area takes in approximately 13,900-acres. The conservation area is located in Volusia and Flagler counties along State Road 40, just east of Barberville and west of Ormond Beach. The property is east of State Road 17, west of State Road 11 (with a small portion lying east of State Road 11) and is bisected by State Road 40.
The area is open to the public for several recreation activities that include hiking, bicycling, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, primitive camping and seasonal hunting. Access is provided at three locations, one each located along State Road 11, State Road 40 and State Road 17.

Roads for the most part are passable by 2 wheel drive vehicles but during heavy rain periods some areas are covered by water and during dry periods some areas are quite sandy.
Cache container is a 1qt jug covered with camo tape.
The power lines may effect your GPS.
