Geocache Description:

This cache is located at west end Radford's old reservoir from the early 1900's.

This is a two part multi cache of local myth and legend.
It is at an old reservoir that used to supply the west end of Radford with water.

The initial cache holds the way to the main cache.
The terrain is not extremely difficult, but had become quite overgrown over the years. You will follow an old footpath that locals used to use. It is a little steep and we had to blaze the trail anew. Reserve 20-30 minutes before this adventure.

There is a lot of tree cover, and we had to get multiple coordinates for both areas of the cache. So a free clue to start off with is "Morton".

This place is home to ghost stories passed down from our families as we grew up. With tales of a sorrowful woman and a helpless child. Rumor had it that forlorn and unable to care for the child, she tossed the newborn into the waters of the reservoir. And even today, some would say that late at night you can hear the child crying. (mind you this story is over three-quarters of a century old!)

We thought we would do a very spooky and significant cache that is part of Radford's lost history for you to enjoy.
Keep with the theme and bring a dark or scary item to swap.
