One and Only Traditional Cache
friedensborn: The original ammo box was stolen in 2019. :( Also too many reports on rattlesnake sightings on the trail leading to the cache. We almost stepped on one last time we did a maintance check. Our One and Only will be the one and only and we did enjoy maintaining and visiting it for many years.

take exit 44 on I 15 when travelling north to dillon, follow frontage road. Take exit 51 when travelling south on I 15, follow frontage road. there is a nice area to park on the right side of paved road. Walk through green gate and close behind you. this is public land and sign says its open to anyone, just no motorized vehicles.
This is our "One and Only" cache at a very special location. Jan and I were married in 2004 down at the Ney homestead. so this cache has items relating to the theme of love and peace to be carried into the world.
This is also a great fishing access, but its muddy in the summer because of the new ponds south of the trail. watch out for prickly pear cactus and holes in the ground, dug by badgers. Lots of wildlife and birds to be seen, but sometimes you may encounter some cows, too.
We placed seed packages for flandern poppies, grown in our garden to share with our fellow geocachers, some jewelery items..mainly heart necklaces, earrings and bracelets, and our first travelbug attached to Salty the bear...we would like him to travel home to Jan's mom in germany.
(salty is in florida as of november 08-08...waiting for a ride to the airport)
since this will be our only cache, we want to keep it in good shape and leave only "nice stuff" in there...we had lots of fun decorating the ammo box and hiding it in a pretty place...except the mosquitos were eating us alive...
there are many small trails to the area...please try to take a different one on your way out, so the path won't be so obvious...just try not to step into the cow-do-dos....hahaha
