Welcome to Pirate's Treasure Cache # 1. The cache is located in Lakewood's Wards Lake Park. Wards Lake is a 22 acre park located off 84th Street SW and Pine Street. The Park features an eagle's nest, nature trails, playground, fishing pier, restrooms, and picnic shelter. Wards Lake Park has spectacular mountain views, natural open areas, lake, and native plants and wildlife. The park is a little known gem.
Park in a designated parking spot and take the path past the covered picnic shelter and just before the fence. Turn left and follow the path along the left side of the fence toward the lake to the fence opening on the right.. Follow the path through the fence to the bridge. Follow the path past the bridge to the right for about fifty feet. The cache is located off the path to the right. The Cache is a clear, plastic container with a Geocaching sticker. It contains a FTF prize, a logbook as well as other pirate themed toys and novelties. Getting a good GPS signal may be difficult in the summer because of the thick forest canopy. Please replace the cache exactly as you found it so many more cachers can enjoy it. THX!
