Racons de Montserrat #05 - Sant Pau Vell

CATALÀ
La muntanya de Montserrat és troba entre les comarques de l'Anoia, el Bages i el Baix Llobregat. És segons la tradició, la muntanya més important i misteriosa de Catalunya. En aquesta sèrie de catxés, "Racons de Montserrat", us volem mostrar diferents indrets de la muntanya, alguns de ben coneguts i d'altres que no ho són tant.

Sant Pau Vell

L'antiga parròquia de Sant Pau de la Guàrdia, que s'aixecava inicialment al costat del castell de la Guàrdia, fou la primera parròquia del terme del Bruc i fins al segle XV no passà a dependre d'aquella, pel despoblament d'aquest sector. Al segle XIX recuperà el caràcter parròquia rural. Les seves ruïnes, d'un temple que havia estat consagrat l'any 1084 i renovat als segles XIII-XIV, són conegudes avui dia per Sant Pau Vell.
Per arribar-hi recomanem aparcar a Can Massana, des d'on tindreu una passejada d'uns 10 minuts

Montserrat mountain is located among Anoia, Bages and Baix Llobregat counties. It is said to be the most important and misterious mountain of Catalonia. In this cache series, "Racons de Montserrat", we want to show you some spots of the mountain, some of them well-known and others not.

Sant Pau Vell

The old L'antiga parish of "Sant Pau de la Guàrdia", built first next to the castle of "la Guàrdia". It was the first parish in the Bruc's district and until the XV century it didn't depended of that, caused by the deppopulation of this area. In the XIX century it recovered the nature of a rural parish. Its ruins, of a temple consagrated in 1084 and renewed the centuries XIII-XIV, are known today as "Sant Pau Vell" (Old Saint Paul).
We recommend to park in Can Massana, from where you'll have a 10 minutes walk.
