A section-line trail... if you like Mailbox Peak Trail, you will enjoy this challenging up hill jaunt!
Take Denny Creek Exit, head to Annette Lake Trail / Tinkham Rd. (south of I-90) then go to Hansen Creek Road... follow the road for approximately 4 miles (take the fork to the left heading uphill and under an old railroad trestle) to another fork on the left with a yellow gate (which may be open or wired shut for due to a few mineral claims located along the roadway)... park at the gate and walk up the road about for about 30 minutes at a casual pace... you will find the trail about half-way round a curve at a sandy berm. It is unmarked, but easily spotted and it goes, more or less, straight up the ridge-line... not for the faint of heart. A great hike with spectacular views when it isn't socked in the clouds!... Good Luck! You will find a sentinel guarding the cache! Look for Uncle Sam!
