Geocache Description:

A historical cache.

Located right on the Barlow Road section of the Oregon Trail, Baker's Cabin and the nearby Pioneer Church remind us of those that came before us.

Horace Baker was a stone mason who came across the Oregon Trail in 1846. He settled in the area to quarry the high quality basalt from the area just below the cabin. Read about the cabin and the history here: (visit link)

The pioneer church was originally a German Methodist church located east of this site in Logan. It was relocated here and ultimately restored by a community group led by Ernest Heinrich. Read about the church here: (visit link)

Thanks for visiting this site. Enjoy your hunt.
