Geocache Description:

A link to the challenge checker is listed below. This is the easiest and quickest way to see if you qualify. Do not go looking for the cache at the listed coordinates, they are in the middle of an intersection after all.

PGC Checker

A link to the challenge checker is listed above. This is your easiest and quickest way to see if you qualify for this cache. The goal of this cache is find a cache on each and every grid using the challenge checker above. ONCE YOU HAVE THE FINAL COORDINATES, YOU CAN TRY AND REACH GZ ANY HOW YOU WANT, BUT BELIEVE ME, THE SHOREST ROUTE MAY BE THE WORST, AND REQUIRE A WHOLE LOT OF BUSHWHACKING. WITHOUT GIVING TOO MUCH INFORMATION AWAY, I MYSELF HAVE FOUND THAT THE BEST WAY TO APPROACH THIS CACHE IS FROM HAWLINGS RIVER. YES, THAT'S A LARGE AREA, BUT ONCE YOU HAVE THE FINAL COORDINATES, I'M SURE YOU'LL FIGURE IT OUT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. TAKE THE LONG WAY IN, OR YOU BETTER BE WEARING AN ARMORED SUIT. The final cache coordinates can be obtained by successfully finding a cache on each grid using the challenge checker above or below. In order to claim this cache, You must post a bookmark list containing cache name and corresponding grid number. I will then review the list verifying each grid needed. Once everything checks out, I will then send you the correct coordinates for the final cache! The find cannot be logged until the physical container is found and the logbook inside signed.

This cache is similar to the Maryland/Delaware DeLorme Challenge, but much smaller in scale. This cache only involves one county.

The actual physical cache is rated about a 2/3 mostly because of the hike, over a mile round trip. There are two unactivated Signal Geocoins in the container for FTF and STF respectively.

Current guidelines (January 1, 2018):

  1. As mentioned above, the posted coordinates are not the actual coordinates for the cache. The actual cache may actually be quite some distance from these coordinates. The final cache container is located in Montgomery County.

  2. Generally accepted rules, guidelines and conditions for logging a cache find apply. These must be bona fide caches listed on Geocaching.com that you have personally/physically found and logged. You may include caches found prior to the creation of the Montgomery County ADC Challenge so long as they meet all other Challenge requirements.

  3. Cache hides will not count towards the Challenge.

  4. All cache types count as finds or hides for the ADC Challenge with the exception of Locationless, Event and CITO caches.

  5. Only caches in the Montgomery County portions count. We will use the challenge checker to determine which county a cache falls.

  6. Map grids can and well change.

  7. While you may have others with you when you find the final cache, only those who have fulfilled ALL criteria for this cache will be allowed to log it as a find. Find logs by other cachers will be deleted.

  8. If you have any questions, comments, complaints or concerns, please email the cache owner. All decisions by the cache owner are final and binding.

Many thanks go out to flyingmoose and jfigel for the idea of this cache.

***Congratulations tktran on FTF!***

  • Adding photos of the original logbook. The original logbook and geocache went missing for about six years. The last geocacher to sign the original logbook was fuzzydave on 12/30/2017. QUE3NBE3 and BLURRYFAC3 found the original geocache and logbook on 02/24/2024. A guy by the name of Paul Foster, NOT a geocacher, stumbled upon it on 06/10/2020 and did sign the logbook. No one had gone after the geocache between 12/30/2017 and 09/03/2020 when Bardenl logged a DNF. On 10/01/2020, I went out to check on it, and could not locate it, so left a replacement. From 10/14/2020 until 05/03/2023 geocachers were signing the replacement logbook. Now that the original has been found, I removed the logsheet from the replacement logbook and added them to the original logbook. Now to put the original logbook back in it's proper place.
