Castaway McGee went out fishing and ended up trapped on a little island in the middle of the Siuslaw river.
Castaway McGee has always loved all that the Siuslaw River has to offer. The fishing is excellent as well as wonderful scenery and wildlife viewing. Castaway has said that he will stay here, simply because he loves it so much, even though you can walk to and from shore on a really low tide. Please visit the island and bring news of the world and trinkets of trade!
This spot is intended to be reached by boat and is best at high tide. A public boat ramp is located at N43 58.080, W124 06.107, but there is a day use fee to park if you choose to park in the port parking lot. If you are bringing a canoe or kayak, you can unload and park on the street for free. If you choose walking to the cache, it will be a difficult and muddy trek and please do not park or cross private property on your way.
Please hide cache well as occasionally people do visit the island.

WARNING! - If you are paddling, please make certain that your skill level is adequate for a moving river. The wind usually picks up in the afternoon, so plan accordingly.
