Geocache Description:

The coordinates are above are NOT the location of the cache. They are a totally meaningless location at the intersection of three towns.

To which town will you be traveling? You must first learn some history. One of the benefits of PREMIUM membership in geocaching.com is that you have the option of receiving notification of new caches in your area. Among other things, this information includes the distance to those new caches. In order to calculate these distances, geocaching.com has established baseline coordinates in each city/town from which to make these measurements. To find this cache you must find the baseline coordinates for the town that was once known as Ward.

First settled in 1714 and was officially incorporated in 1778 as the town of Ward, in honor of American Revolution General Artemas Ward (1727-1800, Shrewsbury Mass, Graduate of Harvard College, Judge and Legislature, Delegate 1780-1781 to the Continental Congress, Soldier of three wars, First Commander of the Patriot Forces being relieved by the Virginian, George Washington).General Ward

The town changed its name in 1837, after the US Post Office complained that the name was too similar to the nearby town of Ware. Did you see the waypoints?

Once you have your GZ baseline, add .601 south and .596 west.

At the final you can take the short trek in or head to the parking lot and enjoy a peacful stoll along the (very short) trails. The area closes at 9pm, though it's not stated when it "opens" I would guess at dawn. When you find the cache, be wary of walkers who may sneak up on you if your not paying attention...
