Geocache Description:

You're looking for a long camoed container. Please make sure to get the lid back on well as it can be hard to close. Stay to the right of the guardrail to find the cache.

Once a booming town, Fort Blackmore was moved after the flood of 1977. During the flood the waters of Big Stoney Creek and the Clinch River were approximately 6-7 ft deep in the stores. The town was bought out which allowed for highway improvements. You can still see some of the old foundations as you travel on Clinch River Highway. In the lid of the cache you will see a picture of the town at it's peak. Please don't remove the picture so other cacher's can enjoy it too! Parking is within 20' of the cache, Happy Hunting! ____________________________________________________________
