Geocache Description:

Cache is located in view of the Sacramento River.

My first effort to place a cache in a neighboring park was thwarted by the presence of a "Premium Member" cache. So was the second. The need to make this third effort reminded me of the tale concerning Scotsman Robert the Bruce, as related on Wikipedia: "According to legend, at some point while he was on the run during the winter of 1305-06, Bruce hid himself in a cave on Rathlin Island off the north coast of Ireland, where he observed a spider spinning a web, trying to make a connection from one area of the cave's roof to another. Each time the spider failed, it simply started all over again until it succeeded. Inspired by this, Bruce returned to inflict a series of defeats on the English, thus winning him more supporters and eventual victory. The story serves to explain the maxim: 'if at first you don't succeed, try try again.' Other versions have Bruce in a small house watching the spider try to make its connection between two roof beams; or, defeated for the seventh time by the English, watching the spider make its attempt seven times, succeeding on the eighth try." Thus, I have decided to try again. If "premium" caches are for true Englishmen, this cache is for true Scots.

Not beyond the gate, not west of the road.

Congratulations to Gary&Vicky for the FTF!
