Geocache Description:

The River Crouch rises near Noak Bridge, Basildon and then follows a generally easterly course passing through the centre of Wickford, on it’s way to Burnham on Crouch & then the North Sea.

As part of a lottery funded project, around 80 pupils of local schools, aged between five and eleven, dotted the banks of the River Crouch, NW of Wickford with 800 flowers they grew from seeds and nursed through winter.

The wildflowers replaced those that have disappeared in recent years and had been specially chosen to attract birds and butterflies.

Information signs were designed by local artists and school children to help walkers learn more about the wildlife living along the route.

The trail is popular with dog walkers & you will be on view from the nearby allotments.
Please exercise extreme stealth when hunting for the cache as the trail will be very busy at times. Retrieve and replace with care just as you found it.

*****You will need to take your own pen/pencil to sign the log*****
