The Long Path was the vision of Vincent J. Schaefer of Schenectady, New York. Mr. Schaefer wanted New York establish a "Long Path" similar to the trail in Vermont known as the "Long Trail". he envisioned the Long Path as an unmarked route meandering from the George Washington Bridge to Whiteface Mountain in the Adirondacks, connecting together a series of landmarks.
Enjoy a short walk along the Long Path. This cache was placed for the 2008 NYCRG Picnic Event. Nice, easy cache that will keep you close to the trail.
