This cache will bring
you to one of the most beatiful beaches on the island Rab,
Croatia.
SAHARA BEACH is a part of
peninsula Lopar, which is a very popular turist resort on the Rab
island. The main part of the beach is sandy with a very gentle and
gradual sea access. Even being 100m out of the shore, you still do
not need to swim, so this place is quite kids friendly.
Once you prefer a deeper bath, you need to follow the west strip
of the beach, where you can find couple of small stony/rocky places
to settle down and rest.
Anyway I would recommend you to follow the east shore with many
more bathing and resting possibilities. There you will come across
some nice and cosy sand beaches or you can find a real privat
shelter in between the rocks. At the end of this part of the shore
there is a very small marina for those, who want to reach this
place by a boat.
If you feel more comfortable without the swimming suit, you are
also welcome as this parts of the shore are FKK marked.
The CACHE is hidden in
the middle parts of the trail going down from the upper parking
place (under pine trees) through pleasant mediterranean vegetation
to the sea. It is just some 700m of walking from the parking to the
sea, but the path is very stony and rocky, so it is higly
recommendable to leave your buggies or bikes locked upwards.
The way to the parking is marked from the main Lopar streets,
anyway the last 100m of the road is not covered with asphalt, so be
careful by driving. The coords of the parking are N
44°50.086 and E 14°44.609.
MAINTENANCE HELP
This cache (like all others on Rab so far) was set up by a visitor
of the island, not a local cacher. That's why I would like to
kindly ask you to help me with maintaining the cache and its
content. Pls feel free to change the plastic bag, pen, logbook etc.
once it is needed. Also taking any food or rubbish out of the cache
is highly appreciated.
If the cache got lost, I can e-mail you a detailed description of
its previous location, so you can replace it with a new one.
Thanks for cooperation
AND WISH YOU HAPPY CACHING
!!
