Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are a on a roadway west of Marron Valley Road, I have included coordinates for the turn off on the north and south end to the roadway.

This former volcano site is on private property and you will only be able to view it from the roadway. The posted coordinates will take you near a private driveway where you can look north west to observe the volcano. The driveway is covered with crushed lava rock. Please do not take any rocks.

On the way back from the cache site, keep your eyes open and you will also be able to observe lava rock on the side of the roadway

This is the remnant of a former stratovolcano created nearly 60 million years ago. Between four and six different glacial periods over the past 50 million years have eroded the volcano to produce the rounded mountain you see here.

The more famous volcanoes in the valley are Mount Boucherie near Kelowna, Munson Mountain and Giant Head Mountain near Penticton.
