Near the trails that wind through Champlain Heights greenspace. The trails are paved and wheelchair accessible until a few feet from the cache.
There are secret places in Champlain Heights that few people know about. This is one of them. There are greenspace paved trails that wind through Champlain Heights behind the various housing developments. There are several public access points. You do not need to go through anyone's private property to get to this cache. Please be careful not to disturb the housing nearby. Wander down the paved pathway and you will come to an area off the path which is a memorial garden dedicated to Doug. It is a peaceful garden where you can enjoy a bit of sunshine on the bench and listen to the quiet of the woods. So, go beyond the ivy curtain and enter Doug's garden once you find the cache nearby.
Addendum: This area has certainly changed in the time since the cache was placed. It is now a “healthy forest” with native plants slowly replacing the ivy and blackberries. There are new benches and willow sculptures to enjoy as well.
