Geocache Description:

In 2007 a statue was erected near St. Michaels College to honor Colonel Donald Cook, a Vietnam War veteran and former graduate of the college. Col. Cook died having been a POW of the war for three years. This St. Mike's newsclipping gives more information about the dedication ceremony and the late Colonel's life.

I have driven past this beautiful granite statue countless times but never stopped to see who it was for. Today I decided to take a trek specifically to see it as it is not very far from my home. Naturally I decided to place a cache nearby to bring others here to admire it as well. The cache is not on or near the statue or in the semi-circle of bushes behind the statue. With that being said, to find the cache you need to stand in front of the statue between the two flood lights. Now, walk for about 20 paces at approximately 20 degrees east of north. Here you may commence your search. Enjoy.
