Geocache Description:

V. easy cache. 5 min detour from M180/A15

This easy-to-find cache lies just off a minor road that follows the route of a Roman road, The Ermine Street. The Ermine Street originally linked London to York, via Lincoln and the Winteringham-Brough ferry. This part became obsolete with the construction of the A15, which favours a less populated route and the large junction with the M180.

It is on one of our regular dog-walking/jogging routes and is a public right of way, up to the gate at the end! Low volume of muggle traffic as it is a dead end that goes nowhere.

Original contents includes swaps, log book + pen and my first travel bug: "Sturton Sunseeker". Please take him with you!

THIS CACHE MUST NOT BE APPROACHED DIRECTLY FROM THE A15 OR THE M180. APPROACH VIA MESSINGHAM LANE FROM EITHER SCAWBY OR GREETWELL CROSS-ROADS.

Apart from that, enjoy our first cache and let us know if there is anything we can do to improve it.
